What area do you service?

We service all of Australia at present, with other markets coming soon. If you are reading this, you probably have the internet and therefore we can offer you service, yay!
Our primary service area is the Sydney Metropolitan Area, Newcastle Metro, Wollongong Metro and Central Coast NSW.

 

Are there any other fees?

We offer simple transparent pricing. There are two cases we may need to levy additional fees: 
1. If you are outside our primary service area: additional fee's may apply for installation on our Premium+ plan, please get in touch for a specific quote. If you're inside our primary service area, our pricing is 100% accurate.
2. If a site induction and/or additional procedures are required to get access to the installation location(s), beyond what is considered reasonable, we may charge an hourly rate.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes! We offer volume discounts for 20+ meters / circuits.

Do you discount for annual billing?

Yes! If you select annual billing you'll receive a discount of 15%-20% compared with paying month to month.
e.g. Our Web plan is $5 /month annually or $6 month to month.

 

Do you offer discounts for non-profits?

Absolutely, we want to do our part to help non-profits save money and time. If you're a non-profit please get in touch with us, we'll hook you up.

 

Is my data safe?

We run Meteorite Monitoring on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and our servers are located in Sydney, Australia.
The AWS cloud infrastructure has been architected to be one of the most secure cloud computing environments available on the planet.
As well as the security features built into the AWS service, we employ 128-bit SSL encryption on our platform.

 

What happens if equipment is vandalised?

If our equipment is stolen, vandalised or otherwise damaged, we'll have to charge you for the replacement. We don't want to do that, so please try and keep our gear safe :)

 

What payment forms do you accept?

We accept Direct Deposit, Apple Pay and Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express).

 

Can I switch plans?

Yes, upgrades can happen at anytime and downgrades at the next invoice date. We'll bill any upgrades on a pro-rata basis.
However if the changes require us to supply any hardware, our setup fee's will apply. 

Who owns the hardware?

Hardware provided on our Premium and Premium+ plans is fully owned and retained by us.
We operate these plans as a managed service model and we want to ensure that the risk, cost and maintenance of the hardware doesn't become a headache for our clients.
Thus we take full and perpetual responsibility for the hardware and will never charge you for ageing equipment, failures or maintenance, ever.

What hardware do you use?

We use a wide selection of hardware from our own custom equipment, and various suppliers, to suit the local site and your requirements.
From cheaper internet of things (IoT) devices, to fully fledged 4G equipment. See our hardware page for more information.
In summary, generally we use locally made equipment that operate on the following wireless networks: 

  • WiFi
  • 3G (traditional mobile/cell network)
  • 4G including Cat-M1 and Cat NB-IoT
  • LoRAWAN (LPWAN)
  • Sigfox (LPWAN)
 

Will you really install hardware on a free trial?

Yes! We're confident you'll see a real tangible benefit to using our platform so we're willing to offer a free trial.
However for our Premium and Premium+ plans, we may require a credit card or cash deposit of $99 to ensure our equipment comes back safely, you'll get the deposit back at the end of the trial.

 

What hardware do you support with the web plan?

We support any and all hardware, and we've never encountered hardware that we can't support. Our platform is built to interoperate with any hardware.
If you are unsure about your specific equipment please get in touch we'll be happy to chat.

 

What data formats do you support?

We accept data in any format so long as it is time series data. We already support many formats but if we don’t support yours, we’ll work with you to build support.
Or if you want us to specify a format, we can do that too.

 

How easy is the 'easy installation'?

Pretty damn easy!
You'll just need a screwdriver for most installations, on average each meter should take less than 10 minutes to install. We'll send you detailed instructions and all necessary equipment. We're also available over the phone for live support during your installation during business hours.
Note: Some electrical meters/circuits may require your electrician, contact us for more information.

 

What happens with a hardware fault exactly?

Web Plan: We'll notify you of the detected fault automatically. Premium Plan: We send you replacement equipment by mail within 10 working days. And you return the old stuff. We'll even send you the screw driver if need be. Any assistance you need, we will help. If we have a site team in your area that week, we might just fix it ourselves.
Premium+ Plan: We send our site team out to perform any necessary work within 10 working days. It's possible you won't even notice there was a fault.
